Bur Bur and Friends™ children’s book series finds a companion in Sun Country Airlines

Imagine this, you are preparing for a vacation to some tropical destination, family in tow. You have planned things for the kids to do like a taking a hike in the jungle, creating opportunities to participate in various sporting activities with hopes that at the end of the day they sleep really well. All of the clothing/necessities have been packed and everyone is dressed and out the door. You cleverly arranged for transportation to the airport and to keep it easy, you are dropped off at the sky cap who takes your bags. After you pay him the tip a feeling of relief comes over you. In all of the chaos you somehow have managed to keep it all together. Finally, the vacation is beginning. Or is it? As you bolt towards security in your effort to finish all of the tasks on your list, you suddenly hear a loud whaling from your 5 year old; "Maaaahhhmmmmmy, I forgot my teddyyyyyyyy." OOPS! To calm the storm, you reach for the carry on bag you have and grab a piece of candy as a pacifier. Suddenly, you realize you forgot the crayons and coloring book. In a panic you think to yourself, "How will I keep them busy on a 6 hour flight that goes over the lunch hour?" Not to worry. You are flying on Sun Country Airlines and are greeted by friendly staff as you are called to begin the boarding process. As you get on the plane you realize that the kids are getting a little antsy. A smiling flight attendant notices and offers you a Bur Bur and Friends in flight activity coloring book that is educational. Along with it comes crayons and a snack pack of Cinnamon Toast Crunch at no charge. On top of that, everyone gets a free cheeseburger. You sit back and begin read a copy of Escape magazine, the complimentary lifestyle publication from the airline that is unlike any others you have seen. Enjoyable reading on an airline? HOW cool is that? Countless stories like this occur every day. We get it. We are two busy professional moms that have been there, done that. This was one reason of many that led us to create the popular new book series, Bur Bur and Friends. We wanted to give children a new window in which to see the world. Introducing kids to new experiences is what we do best and we have passion around it. The characters from our books are multicultural, inspired by our children and their friends. When the opportunity came up to create an activity book for Sun Country and it's guests, we jumped on it. Our hope is that somehow, these activity books and our alliance with Sun Country Airlines will make a difference for your in flight experience. Relax and enjoy the ride! For more information about the Bur Bur and Friends / Sun Country partnership see the press release on our corporate site and an article from Escape Magazine of Sun Country airlines.

My wife and I, along with our 3 year old daughter, traveled to San
Francisco to visit relatives last week. (We love the fact Sun Country
has added a second non-stop daily flight to SFO.) We have never been
one to reduce our leisure travel even with a young child. Our
daughter has been on International flights to Hong Kong, China,
Jamaica and Mexico, as well as many domestic flights. We have
accepted the service level as average at best, when traveling with
children.
THAT ALL CHANGED on our last trip with Sun Country. It started at
the ticket counter, what a pleasant agent. She even volunteered to
help us with our car seat and luggage to get it over to the TSA area.
Next, we were greeted at the gate by a very friendly Sun Country
employee who took the time to chat with our 3 year old and be patient
as she acted like a big girl and handed him her ticket.
The exceptional service continued as we stepped on the plane.
NEVER have we received a children’s activity book with crayons from
any airline. We typically pack our own. Another pleasant surprise
!!! The free cheeseburger and chocolate chip cookie was a hit with
our daughter as well. The in-flight crew was friendly.
Also, I enjoyed the pilot commenting on landmarks as we flew out to
San Francisco. All around a great experience.
We are taking a vacation in February to the Mexican Riviera and were
happy to see the travel package includes Sun Country for the flight.
Keep up the good work and we will keep coming back.
Thanks,

Just a note you let you know we used Sun Country on our Chrisrmas Vacation to Disney world. There was ten of us 6 adults and 4 children and I want to thank you and your team for it was a great experence for us. When the children were on the plane they received a nice packet to keep them busy. The food was nice and the people very freindly.
Thank you,

My husband, granddaughter just finished another successful and pleasant flight with Sun Country. Our plane was on time as scheduled, flight attendants were courteous and polite. The highlight of the trip after we landed and were at the chute was for our 6 year old granddaughter who was invited to look in the cockpit and see all the controls and even sit in the captain’s chair. If only we would have had a camera for her to have this delightful picture for her scrapbook it would have added allot. We also enjoyed the food and beverages that are served on your plane. We appreciate that you have a new policy with the pillows and blankets. This is a health issue and we feel comfortable to be able to purchase these items and to be able to keep them at the end of the flight.
Another plus was the color book and colors and cereal that was given to our granddaughter as there was good information about the plane which she could learn about. As we flew through the clouds our granddaughter commented that her great grandmother just passed through these clouds just a couple of days earlier as her great grandmother whom the children refer to as Grandma GG died and we were coming home for her funeral.
Thanks again for a successful, smooth ride with Sun Country.

Hi Melinda,
I was told that you are the editor of the Escape magazine for Sun Country and that you might be interested in our experience during our last flight on Sun Country when we received the first in-flight magazine I have ever seen for kids! My little boys are 8 and 5, and while they are good travelers, they often need something to keep them busy. They loved the Bur-bur activity book, and it kept them from fighting and fidgeting for more than an hour. They completed most of the activities in the book, and ate every bite of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, a nice alternative to the other food provided on the flight. Thank you for making this available to our traveling kids! It’s a great addition to the Sun Country experience.
