QUICK! 8 words or less: Kids play sports
February 25th, 2009I remember when my son first started playing organized sport games how much I wanted to be out there, protecting his little ego. At the same time, I knew he had to figure it out for himself. Each game I have had, and continue to have millions of different thoughts flying through my head.
Recently I came across a blog post called Watching a child play sports, in eight words, thanks to sports journalist and author Mark Hyman. The idea is that you put yourself in the middle of watching one of your child’s games, what are you feeling/thinking at that very moment.
Perhaps your child is up to bat and the stakes are high, defending a goal in a close game or running down the court with the ball and only 20 seconds left in the game.
Think carefully in 8 words or less, what are you thinking?
Here is mine: “Please do your best, you can do this”
and then: ” Someday I’m really going to miss this”
