The Minnesota Timberwolves are the first team to feature FanChatter’s new Chatterbox technology. ChatterBox allows people to tweet and blog by using the hashtag #Twolves. FanChatter sounds pretty interesting but I don’t understand why one wouldn’t simply Tweet as opposed to using this system. You can Tweet from your phone already. The benefit I see would be the the streaming exposure on a site like the Timberwolves. Are there other benefits here for the user/fan that I am missing?

  2. Kakie Says:

Hi Rich, thanks for adding to the discussion on Bur Bur and Friends Blog about the benefits of using FanChatter. It is regular tweeting, using a mobile phone application and the team hashtag, (In this case, #twolves)

The advantage is it gives fans a new way to interact with one another in live time. There could be some fun banter that goes back and forth. If you are familiar with Twitter, it would be similar to using http://tweetchat.com. The difference is this is specifically for mobile phone use.

The other benefit is the ability to take photos at the game which could be displayed on the jumbotron at the event. Fun for families and kids.

    Does that help?
