Bur Bur and Friends Partners With 9 Year Old to Help Collect and Donate 1 Million Books
May 8th, 2010Maria Keller is a 9-year-old girl from Minneapolis who started a a non-profit literacy organization. Her goal is to collect and distribute 1 million books for needy children by the time she is 18. So far she has collected and distributed 260,000 books throughout the world!
Maria has invited us (JoAnne Pastel and Kakie Fitzsimmons) to read our books at her first annual "Lets Get Reading" celebration at The Mall of America. Maria wants to use this event as a way to get the word out to parents and kids about the importance of reading, especially during the upcoming summer months. There will be stories, dancing and lots of activities for parents and kids to get them excited about summer reading. Please join us to help and support Maria.
