Minnesota Authors JoAnne Pastel and Kakie Fitzsimmons were invited to read at The Bookcase of Wayzata's 'St. David’s Center Children’s Author Series Spring 2011." Both mothers of multicultural children and multiracial children, JoAnne and Kakie, are iParenting media, teacher choice and parent choice award winners who’ve been nationally recognized for their work through multicultural children literature in helping children and their families“to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better.”

Bur Bur and Friends Anna and Bur Bur run in the 2010 Harry and Shelly's Annual Mascot Run as part of The Twin Cities Marathon. Bur Bur and Friends is a group of multiracial friends in award winning children's books and products. The characters teach kids about diversity, healthy choices, self esteem and active play.

Read to Achieve Week (July 12 – 15): Children K-1st Grade receive a copy of "Anna Goes Hiking," a novel that is part of the Bur Bur and Friends book series. The students will get ready to hit the trails as they come along with Anna and her parents to discover the great outdoors on a nature hike!

The Minnesota Twins hosted the first annual Kids Day Event for Champion’s Club ticket holders. Each ticket holder was invited with their family to have the opportunity to play catch on the grass at Target Field, exclusive tours of the Twins Clubhouse, kid friendly breakfast buffet, photos with TC Bear among other fun activities for children. A gift bag was also provided to each child. The gift bag included our very own “Bur Bur Throws Out the First Pitch” book to every child 6 years old and under in attendance.
